About Me

My name is Stephanie Boersma, but the students call me Mrs. B. This is my second year teaching 5th grade at Brandon-Evansville Schools. I teach one of the fifth grade groups for math, reading, writing, and I teach both groups for science. I grew up on a farm outside of Garrison, North Dakota with my parents and two sisters. Then, I went to college at North Dakota State University in Fargo - Go Bison! I received a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science from NDSU and an Elementary Education degree from Valley City State University. I also have an endorsement in Reading, which means I took extra classes to gain skills for helping struggling readers grow and gain confidence at reading on their own level.

In my spare time, I love to read. I enjoy many genres of books and I like to read books that my students enjoy so we can connect with them. Some other activities I enjoy are: spending time with husband, organizing, DIY projects, playing with my niece and nephew, fishing, watching Bison football, and cooking.

The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice."
